Located not five minutes walk from Amanda’s place, Lucky Baldwins is fast becoming my new favorite watering hole (while I am here of course). Nothing can ever replace the Malthouse. I made the mistake of ordering the Sierra Nevada Big Foot the first time I came here. Don’t get me wrong, it’s an amazing beer, but you do have to work up to it. More to come soon.
Three very good friends have all told me that this is the hot dog to end all hot dogs. I have to agree for one simple reason… if you live through it, your reward is the rest of your life (which by now has been shortened by about half). The Pinks Chili Cheese Dog is absolutely fantastic.
There is enough spice to open your taste buds while curling one corner of your mouth into a satisfied smile. I have to say, the photo doesn’t do it justice. If fact, I would challenge anyone (who isn’t a food photographer) to take an appealing photo of a chili cheese dog.
What’s in it you ask? Well, from what I can tell… sausage, bacon, chili and something that once may have been cheese, but has since cooled and formed into a substance closer resembling that weird putty you buy to remove grit from your keyboard, all wrapped in an soft, white, six inch bun. Brilliant.
I made the mistake of ordering the chili cheese fries in the same sitting… but that’s another story.

I have just finished a dinner at The Crab Pot in Long Beach. It was fantastic. You know those movies you see where the couple goes to what they think is a pretty standard restaurant, and then the film cuts to the next scene with them wearing huge plastic bibs, while eating from a pile of seafood in the middle of the table? It was pretty much just like that. Ten points guys. Love ya work.

Hey people! I am attempting to start posting via my phone. Hopefully this will keep you all up to date while I am in Los Angeles. Wonder if I can post some images as well?

Oh the fun we had de-facing our name badges. Rocket, The Dude… Airwolf. This was a splash image from an old site. Still have hung on to that logo tho…

One of these people just doesn’t belong here! Would you believe this was printed on a cake!

It was an honor to have been asked to produced this range of labels for a local Wellington beer master. This was one of three labels I designed for the 2007 Winter Solstice. 2008 labels coming soon.
