What can I say… Its gum and its cute and shiney.

Very rewarding finding beauty in something you see everyday. This is a simple re-creation of a price-tag, one of thousands I used to see everyday during my time in retail. The big fat price value, the detail of the bar code… nice.

Sketch of chair sitting inside a group of squares. This element was part of a identity developed for an interior design company.

This was a fun one. The t-shirt outline is from the Neubau Welt catalogue, a fantastic designers resource. Unfortunately, The Evils have broken up. Ari Freeman and James Goldsmith have gone their seperate ways, but both doing great things in the local Wellington music scene. More about them soon…

Oh how I do love theoretical game consoles. This is a few years old now, but still very impressive. It is a real shame that the majority of comments I have found online focus around the piece of work being a hoax, rather than ackowledging the amount of work that went into the clip. And from what I have heard, this particular video was a rushed second attempt!

My first go at building a working DVD interface. The brief asked us to pick a movie and re-design the interface. At the time I was very excited about the release of Halflife 2. Since the game hadn’t made the market yet, I had to source all of the video and images from the net. Lucky for me, there was a lot of concept art, in-game renders and a big fat preview of the engine, which I cut into sections and used for the video transitions between scenes. Will try and get a video example up soon.

Hands down the coolest piece of tech I have seen in the last 10 years. Being totally wireless, the unit can glide around your floor while you give it commands via a Millenium Falcon remote! Check out the reveiw and video at gizmodo.com
